Oath of Liberation

The Oath of Liberation embodies the unwavering pursuit of freedom and the liberation of the oppressed. These Paladins dedicate themselves to breaking chains, both literal and metaphorical, and fighting against tyranny, injustice, and oppression wherever they find it.

Tenets of Liberation

The oath of liberation is a commitment to the heart, rather than a written down code of honour. Its tenets vary wildly from each Paladin but always involve a commitment to the gentler aspects of chaos. They all share the following themes.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Symbol of Hope. You can use your Channel Divinity to invest your inspiring presence with hope and perseverance. As an action, you can choose a number of creatures you can see within 30 feet of you, up to a number equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1 creature). For 1 minute, you and the chosen creatures have advantage on Dexterity, Strength, and Constitution saving throws.

Retribute the unjust. Immediately after you deal damage to a creature with your Divine Smite feature, you can use your Channel Divinity as a bonus action and attempt to dissuade the target from retaliating. The creature must make a Charisma saving throw or becomes stunned by your divine decree for 1 round.

Aura of Liberation

Starting at 7th level, you emanate an aura while not incapacitated. You and any creature of your choice within 10 feet of you cannot be grappled or restrained, and ignore any penalties on movement such as difficult terrain.

Spirit of Deliverance

Starting at 15th level, your will to reprieve unjust actions empowers you to do so. When a creature is affected by your Retribute the Unjust Channel Divinity, hostile creatures within 15 feet and line of sight of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become Frightened.

Effigy of Freedom

At 20th level, you become the inspiring emblem of your cause. Using your bonus action you gain the following benefits for 1 hour:
