The Dragon Knight
The Dragon Knight is a fearsome warrior who specialises in hunting down dragons and protecting others from their destructive might. These valiant fighters draw inspiration from the heroic deeds of the legendary Targa Vigil, the renowned dragon slayers. As a Dragon Knight, you harness the essence of dragons and channel it into your combat prowess, becoming a formidable force against these ancient beasts.
Bonus Proficiencies
3rd level Dragon Knight feature.
Tongue of Dragons. You learn to speak, read, and write Draconic or one other language of your choice.
Chivalric Training. You gain proficiency in Athletics, Animal handling, History or Persuasion.
Slayer’s Technique
3rd level Dragon Knight feature.
Once per turn, immediately after hitting a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can attempt to grapple your target at advantage without the need of a free hand using your Athletics or Acrobatics. If a creature is too large to be grappled, you instead mount the creature.
While mounting or grappling a creature in this way you deal bonus damage against them equal to your proficiency bonus and they have disadvantage on attack rolls made against you that only have 5 ft of reach as you exploit their blind spot. Creatures mounted by you can attempt to dislodge you at the start of each of their turns, as though escaping a grapple normally.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Wyrm’s Dread
7th level Dragon Knight feature.
Once per turn, when you reduce a hostile creature to 0 hit points, other hostile creatures must succeed a Wisdom Saving Throw or be Frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
Draconic Conditioning
10th level Dragon Knight feature.
Your training to remain steadfast in battle allows you to stare down adversity with ease. Whenever you use your Second Wind class feature you gain a number of Temporary Hit Points equal to the amount of Hit Points restored, and the following effects on you end: blinded, deafened, paralyzed, or poisoned.
Fury
15th level Dragon Knight feature.
Once per turn, when you hit a creature you have mounted with an attack you can force the creature prone 1 round, if the creature cannot fall prone they’re movement speed becomes 0 until the start of your next turn. Additionally, when you roll initiative and have no uses of Slayer’s Technique remaining, you regain one use of it.
Vanquisher
18th level Dragon Knight feature.
The first time you make an attack against a creature you have grappled or mounted using Slayer’s Technique you automatically score a critical hit.
