The Strass Divide
Title: The Strass Divide
Also known as the Great Land Bridge, The Strass Divide is a stretch of land between the continents of Edrenica and Areuvia that has remained independent throughout the First and Second Ages, becoming home to a number of growing settlements and holds known for their agriculture and freemen communities. These city states have positioned themselves to capitalise on the growing relations surrounding the Yearning Sea, poised to profit off of Edrenica and Areuvia's kingdoms positoned farther away.
Geography:
Stockdurn
The city of Stockdurn is a growing powerhouse thanks to its central location relative to most lands surrounding the Yearning Sea. Originally founded by Dwarves and Humans scorned by the feudal living of Edrenica, their partnership has developed an ambitious region seeking to make a name for themselves in the wider world as they forge bonds and rivalries in this prospering region.
Covendwell
First founded as a small fishing village, Covendwell has risen to a great port city thanks to its strong shipping lines around the Canmis Expanse, steadily increasing its population to the most diverse in the Strass Divide as sailors, merchants and craftsmen from all over make their way to the cultural melting pot.
Herelow
A secluded and lush community, Herelow is the largest agricultural region in the world. Home to a dense community of halflings, its residents live in peace away from the busy kingdoms that would seek their prosperous lands. Their indepence and flourishing estates are not without drawback however, as tribal and brigand raiding parties alike venture from the largely uninhabitable Mithlyn Strand to rove the rich land of Herelow, forcing the peaceful countryside to face the harsh reality that even they must consider matters of conflict.
Culture:
The Swaying Markets
Despite the rivalries between Stockdurn, Covendwell and Herelow a strong comradery has formed regardless of their differences, culminating in a biweekly market that takes place in the shade of a large willow tree conveniently situated in the middle of the three established settlements. Traders, craftsmen and travellers all flock to the two-day affair to enjoy the wealth of culture and merchandise that the Strass Divide provides.
